Should you try? Both the food and story of how it started are great so give it a try.
Mexico Blvd was by my office the other day so I decided to give it a try. If you work/live around 21st and 5th, apparently this area has become the new food truck spot since there were 5 trucks located within a block of each other on this particular day.
The truck is quite new, and the website offers a good story about how the owner and his father traveled across Mexico and found the best food – http://www.mexicoblvd.com/story.html
Anyways, on to the food. I tried two different tortas – Adobo (Pork loin marinated for 24 hours in our great grandmother’s adobo; $8) and Tinga (Shredded chicken in a tomato and chipotle sauce; $8). Both came on a light and fluffy roll with avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, sour cream and jalapenos. The avocado and sour cream were spread on each side of the roll. Of the two, I thought the adobo had more flavor and was even a bit smokey.
If feasible, get your sandwich and eat it at home because you’ll be a sloppy mess after eating it. It’s not necessarily a problem, just make sure you have a bunch of napkins.
