Tweat.It
So I had been using Edible City to find food trucks in the city, but after getting punk’d by Edible City several times, it’s time to move on. There were multiple times where Edible City would show a truck nearby, but when I went out to the truck, lo and behold the truck was not there. I think Edible City’s flaw is it checks Twitter and the trucks’ websites for their schedule, but does not necessarily update the map in real-time.
I’ve started using Tweat. It, and it hasn’t led me astray thus far. According to their website:
Tweat. It is, at its heart, a mapping visualization engine for Twitter. We read public food vendor tweets as they happen, then use our in-house mojo to see which ones mention one or more locations and place them on the map. This happens automatically in real time so you always have up-to-the-minute food truck information awareness.
Tweat. It also has an iPhone app (below). If anyone has any experience with Tweat. It, Edible City or any other food truck finder, feel free to leave comments.
