Faicco’s Italian Specialties
260 Bleecker St [Bleecker & Cornelia]
New York, NY
Should you try? Yes, definitely.
The West Village has a bunch of amazing and cheap/reasonably priced food establishments, and Faicco’s is one of my favorites. It’s an old school Italian deli where you can get all different types of meats, but what I come for are the sandwiches. For $11, you can get the Italian Special (pictured above). It may not look big, but unless you’re an ogre, you’ll be stuffed after eating half of the sub. The bread is fresh and is filled with ham capicola, soppressata, prosciutto, mozzarella, roasted peppers or sun-dried tomatoes, lettuce, tomato, and oil and vinegar. The sandwich takes maybe five to ten minutes to make, but they literally spend the entire time slicing your meat and cheese and creating this amazing sub.
They also have an American sub with turkey, ham, American cheese, but from an Italian sub shop you have to go with the Italian Special.
I’ve also sampled the Chicken Parm, which includes five nicely breaded chicken cutlets. It was really good and a huge sub, but I wouldn’t necessarily consider it better than any other good chicken parm subs.
If you’re feeling gluttonous, get the Prosciutto Balls, lightly breaded balls filled with cheese and prosciutto.
One more picture of the Italian Special, in case you needed further convincing.

YUMMYYYY!
I’m getting hungry reading your posts, keep up the good work
Yum…I am drooling over the amount of cheese and meat packed into that sandwich!!! Wow. Good deli meats do NOT exist in Korea. Everything is overly processed and packaged, blech. Looking forward to sinking teeth into something that looks like that picture in a future country!
